VIPPH: Solaire Resort North Emerges as Key Player in Philippines Casino Market
The newly opened Solaire Resort North in Quezon City, Philippines, represents a significant expansion in the country’s gaming industry. Launched in late May by Bloomberry Resorts Corp, the PHP1.0-billion property is projected to reach positive EBITDA of PHP800 million (US$13.7 million) this year and a robust PHP9.1 billion in 2025, signaling rapid growth for the integrated resort.
Unlike its Manila counterpart, Solaire Resort North is constructed as a vertical tower, housing 526 luxury rooms and suites. Its gaming floor spans four levels, featuring 2,669 electronic gaming machines and 163 tables. Analysts at Morgan Stanley Asia compared the property to Macau’s StarWorld Hotel, highlighting that tower-based layouts can efficiently serve large volumes of visitors while maintaining premium service quality.
Despite concerns about potential cannibalization of other Entertainment City resorts, Bloomberry is expected to capture significant market share. Estimates suggest that Solaire Resort North may absorb between 18% and 34% of the EBITDA of nearby competitors, with City of Dreams Manila and Okada Manila likely experiencing the most impact. Analysts also identify Clark as a potential feeder market to drive additional visitation.
In addition to gaming, Solaire Resort North plans to enhance its offerings with a VIP-exclusive floor launching in July, alongside new food and beverage outlets opening in September. This aligns with Bloomberry’s strategy to attract high-value players and maximize guest engagement across all segments.
Bloomberry CEO Enrique Razon anticipates that the property will be fully ramped up by 2026, complementing the company’s existing holdings, including the Jeju Sun Hotel & Casino in South Korea. The development underscores the company’s commitment to strengthening its integrated resort footprint in Asia, while providing top-tier luxury and gaming experiences.
